Unit is intended to equip emergency restoration services companies the main oil pipelines and used for emergency evacuation section of the pipeline before repair and pumping the collected oil to the existing pipeline.

Unit can be used as a mobile pumping station for crude oil and petroleum products in the field, and in case of failure of pumping equipment for commercial pipelines, tank farms and other similar facilities.

The design PNU-2 allows, depending on the tasks, to perform the following work:

1. Collection of oil spilled into the barn and the release of the pipeline: 
- A booster pump; 
- One or two retaining and main pumps. 
2. Downloading oil pipeline repaired: 
- A booster pump at off section of the pipeline; 
- One or two main pumps and retaining non-stop pumping oil through the pipeline. 
3. PNU-2work as a temporary pumping station.
